HER Sports Gets National Attention
For the past two years, our partnership with HER Sports has been a true passion project, a testament to what can happen when a local business and phenomenal non-profit team up with a shared vision. We've watched in awe as HER Sports has grown, providing invaluable opportunities for over 500 girls across Central Virginia through sports, mentorship, and leadership development.
Now, all of that hard work, all of those empowering clinics, and all of those mentorship sessions are being recognized on a grand scale! Toyota Motor North America has taken notice of HER Sports' impactful work, nominating them for the prestigious Toyota Everyday Heroes program.
The excitement doesn't stop there! As a capstone to this national recognition, HER Sports is anticipated to be honored at the 2025 espnW: Women + Sports Summit. ESPN is planning to visit Charlottesville to capture the inspiring impact of HER Sports firsthand. This is a dream come true for every girl who has found her strength and voice through their programs.
2025 HER SPORTS Awards
HER Sports celebrated their awards ceremony on the evening of June 28, 2025. This annual event was dedicated to honoring the accomplishments of local female athletes and coaches across Charlottesville and surrounding counties, recognizing those who are breaking barriers, challenging gender stereotypes, and leading with purpose.
The organization also celebrated five years since their founding. For five years, HER Sports has been building a community where girls can grow, lead, and be themselves-on and off the field. Flow Toyota of Charlottesville is proud to support this mission and the athletes, coaches, and changemakers who bring it to life every day
2024 HER SPORTS Day
Flow Toyota of Charlottesville was a Hall of Fame sponsor for HER Sports Day, an event aiming to celebrate and promote women sports, empowering female athletes of all ages and fostering a strong sense of community within our region. This event took place on Friday, September 21, 2024 at the Boys and Girls Club of Central Virginia.
The event featured a wide range of sporting activities led by local and collegiate athletes, tabling by local businesses, bounce houses, food, music, kickball competition and so much more.
